When it comes to deciding what type of plasma coating you are going to use to protect the product or item that you need treating there are several options. One of the most advanced is that of PTFE coating. This stands for Polytetrafluoroethylene which is a chemical compound mixture that is used in conjunction with Nickel (ii) sulfate. What this science means is that the two substances work together to make a coating that is perfect for electroplating.

PTFE Coating, available from a company like https://www.poeton.co.uk/standard-treatments/electroless-nickel-ptfe covers two bases. Firstly, the Nickel sulfate element will give the product a strong, hard wearing, rust and tarnish free finish that will stand it in good stead for many years. The other advantage with the PTFE coating is that it also acts as a lubricant. This is excellent news as in many cases the use of traditional lubricants cannot be applied in the usual circumstances.

In this way PTFE coating allows the product to fulfil two roles. It is perfect for pipes but another example would be the non stick frying pan. This teflon coated cooking utensil illustrates what PTFE coating can do as the teflon lubricates or works with the oil so that the subject being cooked does not stick to it. The Nickel part means the pan will not rust or crack under the extreme heat.
